- House of Fries: Corner of Jln Pengembak and Danau Poso. Small restaurant specializing in burgers, fries and other international food.
- Warung Memeri: Very good local fare in a beautiful garden setting. Crispy duck highly recommended. Jalan Pengembak No. 9.
- Café Batujimbar: Jalan Danau Tamblingan – Very good local and western food.
- Massimo’s: Jalan Danau Tamblingan – Authentic Italian and the best pizzas for delivery. Also known for the best Gelato in Bali.
- The Firestation: Jalan Danau Poso – A good western bar /restaurant specializing in grills and burgers
- Lilla Pantai: On the beach off Jalan Duyung. Beautiful setting for authentic Indonesian and western food. (also great little Spa called The Nest next door)
- Three Monkeys: Jalan Danau Tamblingan – More sophisticated Local and western food
- The Village: Jalan Danau Tamblingan – Good Italian food and pizzeria
- Soul on the Beach: Sindhu Beach – relaxed dining on the sand. Very lovely
- Warung Dapur: Jln Danau Poso – Excellent, cheap Javanese and Balinese favourites.
Village Restaurants
- Warung Kechil: Jalan Duyung, Hyatt Beach Road- good local rice dishes and coffee
- Sala Bistrot and Coffee: Jln Tamblingan. Great café atmosphere. Good for brunch etc.
- Naughty Nuri’s: Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai. Spin-off of the original restaurant in Ubud. Great ribs and Martini’s.
- Panda Kitchen: Jalan Bypass. Amazing Chinese food
- Naga 8: Jalan Tamblingan, opposite The Hyatt Hotel. Chinese food in a delightful setting.
- Curry in Bali: Jalan Tamblingan. Authentic Indian food.
- Pizzeria at The Hyatt: Very good pizzas etc. in a beautiful setting on the beach.
- Fisherman’s Club at The Andaz Hotel: As the name suggests, a good selection of seafood dishes.
- Kokoya: Jalan Tamblingan. Good but reasonable Japanese food.
- Tree Bar at The Maya Hotel: Good international food overlooking the sea
- Parisi: Jalan Batursari. Excellent, authentic, and very reasonable French food.
- Red Dragon: Jalan Bypass. Amazing Ramen in very ordinary surroundings.
- Aussie BBQ: Jalan Tamblingan. Great steaks and grilled meat of all descriptions.
- Jalapeno: Jalan Tamblingan. Very good Mexican food and accompanying cocktails.
- Puerta 26: Jalan Sudamala. Delicious aged steaks and Iberico ham.



West Coast
- The Italian at Double Six Hotel: Amazing Italian food from an Australian celebrity chef
- Plantation at Double Six Hotel: Expensive but classy western fare
- Mama San, top of Jalan Oberoi: Sister restaurant to Sarong and also very good.
- Ku De Ta Bar & Restaurant , Seminyak: Pricey but chic sunset venue
- Potato Head, Seminyak: lounge/grazing type menu
- La Lucciola restaurant, great location on the beach in Seminyak: Italian/Asian. A Bali institution.
- Petitenget Jln Petitenget, Seminyak: Very good fusion favourites using local ingredients.
- Bambu Jln Petitenget, Seminyak: Indonesian Haute Cuisine
- Jimbaran Beach for Seafood, Jimbaran: grilled seafood dining on beach. Quite touristy and can be expensive!
- Rock Bar at Ayana Hotel, Jimbaran: Super stylish, and pricey, restaurant with stunning views. Great cocktails.
Ubud
- Arcadia Jln Raya Campuhan: Great mix of Western and Asian food from chef Nico, in beautiful riverside setting. Highly recommended.
- Mosaic Jln Raya Sanggingan: Justifiably described as the best restaurant in Bali. Head Chef Chris Salans honed his skills at The French Laundry in California and the food reflects this quality
- Naughty Nuris Jln Raya Sanggingan: Arguably the best ribs in Bali and certainly the best martinis.

- On-On bar, Jalan Danau Poso – basic but fun bar with pool tables and sports on the TV.
- The Linga Longa Bar, Jln Cemara – Live music and late night hangout for the younger set
- The Bamboo Bar at the Sanur Beach Hotel – great early evening spot for sundowners
- Casablanca, Danau Tamblingan – Live music and it stays open late
- Tanjung Sari Hotel, Lovely quiet spot for sundowners, Jalan Tamblingan
- Snack Shack, Great little Aussie-run sports bar with cold beers, good basic food, a pool table and several large screens showing the sport. Sports events can be shown on request. Jalan Danau Poso.
- Shotgun Social: Large, relaxed bar with craft beers and good food. Jalan Pantai Sindhu.
